I am Clarence Maillelle. I grew up all over Alaska, but I am from a small Athabascan village on the Yukon Grayling. I moved to Anchorage in the summer of 2008, and I first became a member of the Web in April of 2009.
When I first became a member of the Web, I wasn’t as active as J am now. The Web’s resources helped me out a lot with moving forward, and now I’ve been housed at Karluk Manor for over a year. I have come out of my shell, and I have started volunteering and being more productive at the Web. I also have a passion for cooking. I cook a lot at the Web for my closest peers, and occasionally I cook for everyone.
I have been in customer service for most of my working life, so I have an interest in working with people. I like to volunteer at the Web to help my peers with their goals and interests. They also help me when I’m in need
Obstacles in my life are my health and my alcoholism, and my addictions. Many I have come to overcome and manage, but I still struggle in my recovery. i do a lot of beadwork. My aunties taught me to do beadwork, and I have been doing it since I was a teenager in Grayling.
I would like to thank the Web for all they have helped me achieve, and for the resources they help me with. The Web is a safe, sober place where I can achieve my goals.
