Kathy Andrews has worked in the human services field for over 35 years. She enjoys helping others to succeed in whatever endeavor they are wanting to pursue. She is equally comfortable working with other staff, supervisors, Board Members, community leaders as she is working with members and volunteers.
Kathy holds a Masters of Arts focusing on violence intervention and prevention, and a dual Bachelor of Arts (general) and Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage AK.
Kathy’s work has focused on serving within the Municipality of Anchorage. However, she has worked for the Aleut Community of Saint Paul and with other Alaska Native Organizations. She has also worked in the public services sector with the Department of Corrections and the Adult Public Advocacy / Office of Elder Fraud and Assistance.
Having served in the Navy during the Vietnam Era, Kathy is active in the American Legion and Amvets. She is currently Commander of Post 21 American Legion and First Vice Commander Amvets Post 49. She is dedicated to helping her fellow veterans reach their personal goals and ensuring that they are treated with respect and assisting them to being served by the Veterans Administration and other local, state and national organizations and service providers.
