We are Eva Foxglove and David Fratis, I want to share our experience and journey we have been a part of since 2009.
Both Eva and myself have been active participants at the Web with its daily schedule and outings. We have participated in Web outings and day trips.
Both Eva and myself have both got funding from the Web for health reasons where the Web has actually got us a hotel so we could recoverin a clean environment. We have been on fishing outings with the Web on several occasions.
It has taken awhile for Eva and myself to get off the streets. The Web was good enough to keep the doors open so that we have always had a place to relax and stay sober.
With my mental illness it has made my life easier to live knowing I had someone to help me take care of stuff I had created with my drinking. Soon, both Eva and myself both decided we did not want to be daily drunks sow the Web has been great to help keep us sober by use of a BRAC machine.
After coming to the Web together for a few months, we began to learn all the different ways it could help us. We both been housed for health reasons to heal. After coming here for nine (9) years, Becky the housing mentor asked me to fill out an application for Alaska Housing just to see what would happen and low and behold! We got a housing number and our number came up to get a one (1) bedroom apartment.
Thanks to all the helpful and caring mentors at the Web, Eva and myself moved into a one (1) bedroom on December 28, 2018 right on our nine (9) year anniversary. The Web was kind enough to pay our first month’s rent and the security deposit.
Thank you, Alaska Mental Health Consumer Web, !!!
Because of my mental health issues, I will be active at the Web still. Eva just recently got a job in housekeeping and sends her thanks and gratitude for the Web being here for us.
